Korea // Day 4: a little more exciting… me being Asian tourist!
So i did the tourist thing today… did Namsan Park and the Seoul Tower, more getting lost on the subway system (so much fun!), and meandered Gyeongbukgung Palace! Today actually also was the first day that i really started to feel a little homesick, lonely even. Not sure what it was….thank goodness for over stimulation and culture shock!!! SO much to see and so much to do, hardly time to think about anything else! However, the other weird thing coming in to play was looking at all of the middle aged women, wondering…is that my mom? Its really strange, but i definitely need to start pursuing MOM. Anyhow, aside from the expected awkwardness, i had a great day sightseeing, tripding, and meeting up w/ Alex (Korean American) who showed me Soju = good deliciousness!!! Its like vodka but WAY smoother.
I took the cable car from the base of Namsan mountain to the top where Seoul Tower awaited my arrival…
View from the base of the cable car.
I totally feel ya sister…i have days like that all the time… wondering what the hell im doing….
You might be thinking to yourself, “what a strange fence”….
Ever heard the expression, “chained to love?”… this is it taken literally.
Artsy fartsy…wirey man about to dive bomb peaceful Namsan Park.
Silly asians…
Just in time for the changing of the guards ceremony at Namsam Park.
Its official…im an asian tourist…
Changing of the gaurds…
Token white guy.
Lesson 1: Korea has been occupied and beaten down for decades, centuries… but hands down have some of the most beautiful relics and artifacts.
My mom always liked me in red…
Bam! Gyeongbukgung Place…say that 5 times fast!
Playing w/ the new tripod… passing time!
New allover print for my nexgt snowboard jacket..no?
OH! why, hellow there camera, i did not see you there.
Reflecting on tings next to the reflecting pool.
Heading out for a night on the town…
Meeting up with Alex from LA!! Just takin’ a little exercise break, guess these machines are common throughout parts of the city. He took me a great little spot for some dinner and Soju and taught me “gunbae”, which is how your “cheers” in Korean!

Hi Molly, what an awesome experience for you, I’m so excited. It looks like the homeland is treating you well. Whenever you feel lonely, just think of the prize. You’ll be finding your mom soon. YAY! And skype me whenever, would love to hear more.
MoHawks, I have been enjoying your updates from Korea sooooo much. This one is the best so far. I think you make a great warrior and also a great model (why hellow there camera).
Keep the great pics comin’! It makes my cubicle-dwellin’ day!
