Here is a little haiku summing up my weekend:

Yeah, so the haiku really can’t capture all of the random fun from the weekend… oooh for example,  leaving at 6am from Seattle on MFM’s 40ft RV with a camera, some clothes and my road bike, eating %*it on flat pavement in the taxi loop, or the quench factor of the 530pm canned Pilser after a long day out in the sun (thanks eric!).  i spent the 48hrs in the moment, in the sun, or amongst friends… so good!  i even got to plan a little bit of my trip to korea.  I’ve got somewhat of an itenerary going and a first draft at a budget…just need to book the ticket tomorrow!?

This was a Telus 72hr Filmmaker Showdown entry that blew my mind, check it out. For those of you not familiar w/ the Showdown, its basically a 72hr film festival where crews set out to shoot, edit, and produce a 3-5min film. Locals and filmmakers from all over come for the show and they are debuted during the festival.This year they were challenged to add a “prop”… the prop was a little, green, ikea scrub brush…so one crew took a different approach, used some dope ass motion graphic skills and dropped some science on what we are doing to our planet.

This film was quite different than most of the others…if not for the message, definitely check it out for the entertainment value.

…it’s me!  Though barely back from gallivanting time zones, I skipped town again and headed to my favorite place in North America, Whistler.

Nothing too eventful Friday… just some deep thoughts and stimulating conversation on the drive up, thanks Mr. Dickerson!   Hmmmm, what else?  Bottomless bread, wine and me ordering from the kids menu at the Spaghetti Factory later that evening with the one and only Sarah Stall. OH, can’t forget the togas all over the village. Kokanee had qualified beer drinkers all over Canada to take part in the Kokanee “Whiteout” party, a surprise trip to an undisclosed location for a weekend of debauchery with other beer drinkers.  Whistler was the destination, and we were lucky enough to get to share the weekend with the lucky, half naked people.  Speaking of lucky, they seemed pretty drunk so doubt they realized how cold it actually was outside that night. The antics were pretty contained as they were herded like sheep around the village… and frankly was a bit entertaining so i can’t say that it was that annoying…it at least made for some decent people watching.

…moving on.  Saturday was supposed to be a typical spring day in Whistler… late arrival to the gondola, a few warm up runs, and a good workout in the park… which actually ended up being way more.  We took a couple laps on Crystal chair with our little crew and at lunch Jordan and i ditched out and ended up taking a hike up the Blackcomb Glacier.  We ended up running into one of his friends, Ryan and those guys stepped at a pretty good pace while my short little legs plugged along as fast as they could! Damn! Im still waiting for another 5 inches, i would be content at 5ft 5 inches tall really!  Anyhow, so yup, not quite as in shape as i should probably be at this point in the season so needless to say I was breathing pretty heavy, but made it.  We were originally heading for “Poop Shoot” but ended up dropping a little earlier.  Such an incredible view from the backside, it was clear blue skies and super fun and slashy.   Jordan, you should really incorporate this into your Crossfit workouts….i am definitely going to feel it tomorrow….  I guess you could say that i got my cake and i ate it too.

That night we went to see “I love you man“.  I’d give it a B, maybe a B+.  I’d say see it for sure but don’t blow off other plans for it.

This weekend turned out to be some good impromptu fun.
